MGGA / GUIDE
Celebrate fully. Plan thoughtfully.
Simple ideas for mandals, residents and everyone joining the festival. Practical ideas are MGGA’s proposals; health information and regulatory guidance link to their sources.
01
Start with a conversation
Share the programme with volunteers and neighbours. Agree on access routes, a place to rest and who will handle cleanup.
02
Look after your hearing
Sound intensity and exposure time affect hearing risk. Keep the volume down. Seek professional advice for persistent ringing or difficulty hearing.

03
Check permission and local conditions
Rule 5 requires written permission from the authority for loudspeakers. Use is generally restricted between 10 pm and 6 am, with specified exceptions. A festival does not automatically grant an exemption. Check current local orders.

04
Design a welcome for everyone
Ask older people, families, disabled visitors and nearby residents what they need. Make volunteers easy to find. Ask before offering someone physical assistance.
05
Keep the care going
Clean the area, thank artists and volunteers, and note what could work better next year. Keep the conversation focused on practical improvements.
